Bake Sale!

Coach told me on Thursday that he had a bake sale on Friday to raise money for the local art scholarship. Luckily, I had seen this post awhile ago and decided to try it. Here is my little cupcake! Might not be the tastiest (Kroger cupcake) but it sure was the cutest!

Easter

We decided kind of last minute to go to Chicago for Easter to see coach's sister and her family and his grandparents, aunt and uncle and cousins. We had a great time! We left at the crack of dawn Friday to make it there in time to go to a 1:00 Cubs game! We took the train to Wrigleyville and the game was FREEZING! There was an hour rain delay andwe figured we would be sitting in the pouring rain. We bought the tickets on Stub Hub before went and randomly, our seats were under cover!! We were still freezing but dry! yay. The Cubs were losing so we left early but still had fun! Saturday, we decided to drive downtown to take sweet girl to the American Girl store. We weren't planning on doing this so unfortunatly, she didnt have Baby Ella with her (Bitty Baby). That store is A-dorable! I can't wait to take her there when she is a little older. The lunch room looked so fun. Sunday, the Easter bunny came and then we went to church. After that, we went to coach's family for their Greek Easter dinner. Countdown to Crusin'!

We have around 50 days until our cruise! Woohoo! I have been researching some excursions and I have decided on this one after reading rave reviews! There are 2 other tours we will take and then 2 stops will just be beach days. I will post all our choices when we have them nailed down!

On another note, sweet girl has taken to saying "Geez, you don't have to cry about it". It's hilarious!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

A leprechaun visited our house last night He turned over all of our chairs and left gold chocolate coins! We are going to make Irish Soda Bread today! I have never made or eaten it so we will see how it goes!

We had a great night away and even slept in until 10!!! Makes me wish our cruise was tomorrow!

Birthday Ideas

Check out all the great birthday ideas at Kelly's Korner!. I found her site last year when I was researching sweet girl's first bday. I am going to get some good ideas for her 3rd bday (i know, its 10 mos away). It is Carey's fault I am so into birthday's! I already have monkey's planned for November so now it's time to plan the sweet girl's!!

Night away

This weekend is the state club hockey tourney in Canton. I will be going with coach and we will be leaving the crazy kiddos here! Yahoo! Our wonderful neighbor is coming over at 3 AM tomorrow so we can lv. There is a game tonight that we will miss because coach is playing in his band and the first game tomorrow is at 8 AM in Canton - hence the 3 am departure. I am already exhausted thinking about it! My plan for tomorrow is hockey, massage, nap and more hockey. I am really hoping they don't win all 3 games ( I know, great attitude!) but if they do, they play at 8 am Sunday morning and I want to sleep!!!!! Monkey has been waking up at 5 am everyday for a few weeks now and I am a walking zombie! Aargh. Have a wonderful weekend!

Branching Out

I am trying to prepare/eat some new foods. These aren't anything crazy but if you know me, you know I am wierd about what I eat. I have trouble eating anything that is the name of a body party (with the exception of chicken breast). ie: pork butt. NAST. I also am wierd about eating anything I swim in the same water with. So this limits our meals to beef or chicken. When we were in Florida, I tried my parent's fish and it wasn't too bad. I told Carey that it isn't the taste I don't like, it is just the fact that I am eating a fish. But last night... I actually bought, cooked and ate fish! I picked Fish Tacos because i thought it would disguise the fish the best. I I have never used Old Bay seasoning before (my mom uses it for lobster boils), so I was quite liberal in it's use. HOLY SPICY! Note to self: next time, use it sparingly! Aside from the nose dripping spiciness, it was good. I will be making these again.

Star of the Week!

Monkey is star of the week at school this week! They randomly pick a child each week and I was so hoping he wasn't picked last! Friday, we went to Red Robin (his pick) to celebrate! This morning, he was up at 5:45 am he was so excited. He also brushed his hair one million times and kept asking me how he looked. He even had to take a brush in the car! Adorable!

If you know me, you know I love Etsy! I have bought dresses, bows and party decorations just to name a few. I have always had the best luck and everything is adorable!! But I just read this. I had no idea you could do that! I'm defiantly going to try that next time!!

Linking Party

FYI - I am thinking about keeping the Christmas background all year round since it is almost March and I still have it up! We will see.

I am following Carey's lead and linking some cool things I have found lately!

I found this site and have been using it for a few weeks. I love it. It is so nice to have all recipes and a grocery list in one document! So far the meals are pretty good and easy to cook!

My mother in law bought me this and the recipes above have fit right in with this system. Plus it is super cute!

The kids and I are going here to visit my parents on Wednesday - Woo hoo. Goodbye winter, hello summer! We do not have a direct flight which scares me so hopefully everyone will behave! Sweet girl will have her first non lap flight and I will take this for her carseat. Monkey uses this on flights. Keeps him a little safer and he stays in his seat better. He is a few lbs past the weight limit but oh well!

Just in case we get stranded in Hotlanta, I made a hotel reservation at the airport all suite hotel (and indoor pool!) I have terrible visions of trying to sleep on the airport floor with two screaming children!!!

Sweet Girl is 2!

We had a great Ladybug Birthday Party for Sweet Girl yesterday! It was nice and laid back which is a change for us. We ordered pizza so I only had to bake the cakes and make one app. Coach did a great job once again assembling/decorating the cake. I think this is my favorite cake so far out all the ones we have done!

Blog dropout

I am the mommy and I am blog dropout. Yes, I still have a blog. Ut obviously have not written in a long time. A few days after my post, my computer charger died...again. So I took it to our friendly neighborhood Staples. They assured me I would have it back in 5 days. Fast forward THREE weeks, and I still did not have it. Then, i finally got it only to realize that the wire connecting the on/off button was disconnected If you know me, you know that I have ton have a computer for work. Emailing things to Kinkos to print and only being able to get on the Internet at Panera was just not cutting it anymore. So we bit the bullet and spent coach's track coaching money (that he will get in May!) and got a new Apple MacPro. It is lightening fast and cam do more than we will ever need but is so nice! So hopefully I will get back to blogging. Still have to get our xmas pics off of my camera now that I have a place to store them! Stay tuned to sweet girl's ladybugs 2nd Bday party. It's going to be adorable!!

And yes, I need to update the header and background... Baby steps:)
