This year, we will be having bruhcn at our country club (sounds much fancier than it is!) I also just saw this idea for hiding baskets and it looked so cute! I might have the ribbon be the personalized as I would have no use for charms! Monkey is getting some cool stuff in his basket this year including Toy Story 1 & 2 that I got a great deal on!! Both movies for $12 total at Target last week! Plus, each movie has a code good for a free ticket to TS 3 when it comes out this summer. 2 movies and 2 movie tickets for $12 is a super deal in my book!!
A few weeks ago, monkey decided he wanted a tie!! So he will make his tie debut on Sunday - so cute...
Today, Carey and I are taking the kids for spring pictures. Sweet girl will also be having her 1st bday pics taken (2 mos late!!). Better late than never! Have a great day!

Spaghetti Sauce
Today, I made homemade spaghetti sauce for the first time! Last week, I made a pork tenderloin in red wine and I needed it use it up. That coupled with 24 cent cans of tomatoes this week = cheap spaghetti sauce! And it is pretty tasty if I do say so myself! Here is the recipe: I doubled the recipe and made some modifications.. I used stewed tomatoes b.c I really have no idea what to use those for. They were Italian style. Monkey and I blended them in the blender after 2 hrs of cooking so they were more 'saucy'. I also didnt have tomato paste on hand so I used 1 can of Tomato sauce and 1 Tomato Puree. I also didnt add the spices b/c they were already in the tomato cans. I did add the Bay leaves. Super easy and monkey and I just tasted it and it is pretty tasty!
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 tablespoons dried basil
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/4 cup red wine
Directions
- Heat olive oil in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Saute onions and garlic until tender, 2-3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat for 3 hours.

Linking Par-tay
Carey did a linking party on her blog this week and I thought it was a great idea:)
I am in love with these. I think monkey totally needs one when he starts flag football! (Watch the video - it is hilarious!!!) Everything on her site is super cute!
I am thinking of having the Easter Bunny bring this for sweet girl this year. Probably not but it is cute!
I love these shoes in black/silver but I know I will never really buy them. I did try them on at Nordstrom and they are so comfy!
Now that sweet girl is close to walking, I think she needs these in black.
This is a new blog that I like to read - good DIY ideas!
I am wondering if somehting like this can make our GG life simpler??
I think I might try a vege garden this summer. I did it a little bit in Oakley but haven't tried it here yet!
That's all for now!! What do you like to look at?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
We aren't doing any thing very exciting today! Coach is playing and the neighbors have invited is over for a St. Patrick's dinner! Should be fun although the son told me that that usually means stew - yuck! But who am I to pass up a dinner I don't have to cook! The dryer repair man is coming today and I am hoping he will help me with a visit from a leprechaun. This involves chairs tipped over and gold coin chocolates left:)
In other news, our visit to the lung doctor didn't really tell us why mo nkey keeps getting pneumonia. He still has stuff in his lungs so he is on an inhaled steroid for 2 mos. After that, we go back and if it is still there, they will do a CAT scan. He could have aspirated something at some time and that could be the cause. Just another reason for my mommy guilt of not breastfeeding him to kick in. That is the reason they tell you NOT to put rice cereal in his bottle but we did it for the reflux...uggh. They also said he might have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) so we have to go for a sleep study at Children's on April 12th. Looks like the 'cure' for this is removal of tonsils and adnoids.

Please excuse the mess
I am in the process of springing up the blog! Can't quite figure out the header...so patience please:)
We are still alive!!
I can't believe I haven't posted in a month!! Monkey and sweet girl both got colds/ear infections and then monkey's cold turned into pneumonia:( In one week, we made 4 trips to the doctor and 2 trips to the ER one of which turned into an overnight stay. He only had to stay in one night this time. Last year when he got it, he had to spend 2 nights there. Luckily, we have wonderful friends, neighbors and babysitters who stayed with sweet girl so I could be at the hospital also.
Everyone is healthy again! Yay! The kids and I went to Florida last week to visit my parents. We had a great trip despite the cold. Sweet girl LOVED being outside! Monkey spent a lot of time swimming. The pool was about 85 degrees so when he got out, we took off his suit and put on really warm clothes! He did a super job swimming and even swam without his vest for a while. When it finally got warm, we made it to the beach. We took sweet girl's booster seat for eating there and strapped her in the shade. She loved just watching everything, especially the birds! Monkey got to build a sand castle with Nana so he had a blast too! We did a lot of relaxing, eating out and playing. We went to a turtle rescue, animal sanctuary and to the Playmobil play place... It was a great trip! Now, back to reality!
